Weekly Photography Assignment: Rain
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 53: Rain
Our theme this week is Rain. This should be an easy one for most of us in the northern regions heading into winter! Capture rain on camera – try as many ways as you possibly can. Look for puddles with splashes, streaks with wildlife, and just general miserable days. This should be fun, and give you an excuse to go out in the pouring rain. So wrap up warm, grab a waterproof, and get going!
Submit Your Photo
To enter your photo to this assignment, add it in the comments below this post. By submitting your photo, you are giving us permission to feature your photo the following week if it is chosen as one of our favourites.
Here are some guidelines to keep things running smoothly:
- Photos must be your own work
- Please enter no more than 3 photos per week
- Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment
- Include a description with your photo and tell us a bit about it!
You have until next Tuesday, 14th November, to submit your photo.
Last Week’s Favourite
Here is our favourite entry from last week’s submission, Forest Details! You can view all of the entries here.
This first image by Duncan is chosen because of the perspective and angle he has looked to achieve. The detail of the leaf on the left fallen tree, which acts as a lovely leading line into the image, adds a necessary punch of colour into the scene that lifts the whole image entirely. As for details, well there are plenty of them! From lichen to leaves and bark. Great work!
Some lovely, sharp, colourful details from John here. Again, the punch of colour from an autumnal leaf really lifts the image. There’s so much to explore here, and you can spend a long time looking around the frame. I really like it.
You can’t have an autumnal, forest detail competition without a shot like this. Lovely flowing water wrapping its way around the rocks in the stream. Totally scattered with autumn leaves, this shot is also full of details to explore. I love those mossy rocks on the right of the frame, too. Great work!
