Weekly Photography Assignment: Emotions
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 74: Emotions
Our theme this week is Emotions. This week I want you to try and capture emotions on the faces of your animal subjects. That could be something looking a little miserable, bored, happy, or sad. it’s definitely possible, whether that’s the real emotion of the animal or not – it’s all in the timing!
Here are some tutorials to help you:
Submit Your Photo

- Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment
- Include a description with your photo and tell us a bit about it!
You have until next Tuesday, 10th April, to submit your photo.
Last Week’s Favourites
Here is our favourite from last week’s theme, Freestyle. You can view all the entries here.
Something of an abstract shot of a kingfisher, there’s plenty of motion and story in this image. It’s a lot more interesting than a lot of kingfisher portraits, showing a bit of behaviour and humour! The shot works, in my opinion, as the feet are frozen whilst the rest of the body is a blur. Great idea!
