Instagram Enables Direct Messaging on Desktop
Instagram has finally made direct messages visible, including the ability to respond, when using the social media network on a desktop computer.
For many freelance photographers, Instagram is a main point of call for business, exposure, and networking. However, until recently responding to messages on the app had to be navigated via the tiny surface area of our phones.
Whether it be a client asking about image prices or a request for a shoot, dealing with direct messages was only possible through a smartphone. The desktop web version on Instagram only offered general browsing, commenting, and liking posts.
Now Instagram has updated these messaging features, which are now accessible on a desktop web browser. This is great news, and will help to make photographers’ workflows easier and more effective.
When logged in to Instagram on the web, simply click on the inbox icon in the top-right hand corner of the screen to access all your messages.
Sadly, we still can’t post photos via the online browser, but at least this advancement is a step forward. For now, this little development is making it far easier to keep up with those all-important messages.
