Call for Entries: Bird Photographer of the Year
Now in its 7th year, the Bird Photographer of the Year 2022 competition has opened for entries. The competition celebrates and funds bird conservation, with the winner taking home a £5,000 ($7000) cash prize.
Photographers are invited to submit images across 8 categories and 3 special awards, with a prize fund totalling £25,000. There is also a Youth competition, which is free to enter for those under the age of 18.
This year’s competition features a brand new Video Award, sponsored by RED Digital Cinema. Focused on cinematography, the winner will take home a RED KOMODO cinema camera worth £6,000.
Commended and awarded images will feature in the upcoming Collection 7 book of the competition. The collection books are hardback, coffee-table books filled with the best images from the year in question.
In an effort to celebrate the work of photographers around the world, the Bird Photographer of the Year website is now available in 9 languages. Photographers can submit their entries in any of these supported languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Arabic.
The deadline for submissions is 20th December 2021, and photographers are invited to find out more information on the BPOTY website.
