Weekly Photography Assignment: Action Shots
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 161: Action Shots
Our theme this week is Action Shots and we’d love to see what creative action shots of nature you can take! Perhaps you will freeze movement in a landscape image such as waves or the rain with a fast shutter speed? Maybe you will photograph a bird in flight, capturing it in mid-air? Or perhaps you’ll use your macro lens to photograph an insect on the move? The options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what action shots of nature you can create!
Here are some tutorials to help you:

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Minimalistic– and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Kezz Houghton. This ‘was an opportunity that presented itself as the rain started to fall later on in the day when the colour of the water appeared much darker and deeper, and the drops of water created the first ripples, creating a minimalist abstract that could only be captured in that moment.’ We love the colours and calming effect of this image. The creative choice to focus in tight on patterns in the water is highly effective and visually engaging. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
