Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 183: Wide-angle

Our theme this week is Wide-angle, and we’d love to see what creative nature photographs you can create using a wider perspective! This week we’d like to encourage you to bring a wider view of the world to your nature photography. Perhaps you will use a wide-angle lens, or the widest setting on you smartphone – whichever you choose, using a wider field of view will help you to gain a new perspective; even on subjects you might have photographed many times before! Experiment on wildlife, landscape or macro subjects; there are no boundaries. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring wide angle nature photos you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Water – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Stephen Rogers: ‘Watery Textures: I had just finished a dawn shoot at the beach, and was thinking about going home for some breakfast, but I liked the light on the sea and the way in which the small waves were gently breaking on the beach. So I decided to play with ICM for a few minutes, this is one of the shots.’ We love the sense of movement captured within this image. Stephen encapsulates the theme of ‘Water’ with the use of ICM and the colours, and the image is composed with highly effective horizontal lines that align with the rule of thirds to create a pleasing composition. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
