Weekly Photography Assignment: Black and White Wildlife

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 236: Black and White Wildlife

Our theme this week is Black and White Wildlife, and we’d love to see what creative images you can take of animals in nature using black and white! Black and white images can be espeically striking. They offer oppertunities to focus on clean compositions, to increase drama, to highligh the subject in your images, and so much more. This week, compose your wildlife images with this in mind. Look for contrast and light and shadow, and try to tell a story in your images! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for awesome black and white wildlife photographs are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Summer Nature – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Pam Mullins: This is a brilliant capture ofsummer wildlife in action! Portrait orientation suits this image very well, as does the central positioning of the subject matter, with the impression of eye contact with the viewer. It is an exciting display of action and behaviour, and proof that you never know what awesome moment you might be able to capture when you head out with your camera! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
