Weekly Photography Assignment: Black and White
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 247: Black and White
Our theme this week is Black and White, and we’d love to see what fantastic black and white nature photos you can take! The options for black and white nature images are plentiful. This week, look for light and shadow, and contrast in the scenes around you. What compositions would look great in black and white? You may choose to shoot in black and white originally, or to convert your images after. Perhaps you will photograph a dark and moody landscape, or try for a high key image of wildlife in your garden. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for awesome black and white shots are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Animal Faces– and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Zoltan Dobany. We love the careful composition of this photograph! The partial obscuring of the subject is playful and engaging, and keeps our eye drawn into the frame. The focus is sharp around the eye of the bird and captivates the viewer! The play of light and shadow here is also very well exceuted. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
