Week 307: Trees
Our theme this week is Trees, and we’d love to see how you can photograph trees in nature. Photographing trees offers a plethora of image opportunities, especially at this time of the year. You may decide to incorporate them into your landscape images, in forests or woodland scenes. Perhaps you will use a wide-angle lens to capture a tree in its entirety, or use a macro lens to look for the smaller details in trees. Maybe you will try to find a lone tree landscape, or use creative lighting to highlight the shape of a tree. You may even decide to focus solely on the leaves or colour of a tree, or try creative techniques like intentional camera movement. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting photos of trees are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s theme was Landscape – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Mark Guilfoyle : ‘An idyllic woodland stream in late autumn highlighted by green ivy growing up the base of a tree; and highlighted on the opposite side by the serpentine tree roots.’
This intriguing and engaging composition draws our eye into the frame with its leading lines and use of point of view. A clever construction of a lovely landscape scene! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
