Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 11: Trees

Our theme this week is Trees.

Last Week’s Favourites

Here are two of our favourites from last week’s theme, Sunrises & Sunsets. You can view all of the entries here.

I really enjoyed viewing this photo of a beach in Sri Lanka by Damith. The picture is well exposed overall, which is great to see in a photo with such a high dynamic range (rom the shadows under the rock through to the froth and sun). The colours from the sunset break through the waves as they crash against the rocks. There are interesting elements at all stages of this photo, from the background to the mid ground and beyond.

Stuart’s photo of a sunset through cowslips shows great thought about composition. The framing here is very nice, and the colour gradient works well with the rule of thirds to make it more visually pleasing to the eye.
