Weekly Photography Assignment: Evening Light

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 168: Evening Light

Our theme this week is Evening Light and we’d love to see what creative nature photographs you can create in the beauty of evening light! The days are lengthening as we come into the new season, so look out for ‘the golden hour’ followed by ‘the blue hour,’ and the dramatic effects that evening light can have on your nature images. Whether you capture a sweeping landscape in the last light of day, or an animal backlit by the dying sun, or even a tiny detail in nature lit up by the final rays before night arrives, the options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images showcasing evening light you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Signs of Spring– and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Yitz Pix of ‘the first purple crocuses of spring, using a macro filter.’ We love the unique and engaging composition of this shot. The use of light and shadow also really highlights the rich tones and colours of the flowers; a celebration of one of the first signs of spring! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
