Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 289: Fill the Frame

Our theme this week is Fill the Frame, and we’d love to see what amazing nature photos you can take that fill the frame! The opportunities for close up photography are plentiful. This week, practice looking for new and unusual ways to frame your favourite subjects. What parts of them are you most drawn to photographing? Can you obscure your subject by zooming in on a single feature? Look for patterns and textures out in nature, and how you create an engaging image that fills the frame of your camera. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for great fame-filling photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Landscapes– and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Karen Cullinen: ‘My entry for this weeks landscape challenge – somewhere near Borgarfjörður eystri in Iceland.’

This is a very pleasing landscape image with a very effective composition. The foreground leads us beautifully into the scene, and the use of long exposure to capture the movement of the water is aesthetically pleasing and atmospheric. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
