Week 294: Garden Wildlife

Our theme this week is Garden Wildlife, and we’d love to see how you can photograph wildlife found in your own back garden! There are so many exciting ways to create new and engaging images of local wildlife. Perhaps you will look to freeze a high-action moment, such as a bird feeding at your feeder. Maybe you will look for squirrels hiding in your trees, or insects hidden in your plant bed. If you don’t have a garden, why not head out to your local wildlife park? Think about how to form interesting and engaging compositions of common species. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for great garden wildlife photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Movement – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Valentina Parente: ‘ICM photo I took during a beautiful sunset on the coast of Westray, Orkney Islands.’

This is a beautiful example of the creative methods we can use to capture movement on camera in nature photography. ICM transforms this scene into a magnetic interplay of light, colour and motion. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
