Weekly Photography Assignment: Macro Winter Photography
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 210: Macro Winter Photography
Our theme this week is Macro Winter Photography, and we’d love to see what creative images you can take of macro subjects found in wintery settings. Macro subjects come in many shapes and forms, and it’s up to you to select the most captivating subject and composition for this week’s assignment. Perhaps you will find delicate snowflakes to photograph, or insects drying out as a crisp morning dew lifts. Maybe the intricate patterns of a frozen leaf catch your eye, or you might even try your hand at focus stacking. Whether you’re a seasoned macro photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for creative winter macro photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Water – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Parham Pourahmad, of a pelican landing in water. A fantastic portrait of a pelican, this image manages to freeze the action of the water as the bird comes to land on an otherwise calm surface.
