Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website.

Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 243: Mood and Atmosphere

This week, our theme is Mood and Atmosphere. Mood and atmosphere can be found in nature photography in many different ways. Compose yor images carefully as you look to capture drama and a real sense of place in your photographs. Perhaps you will use black and white to dramatise a scene, or go out on a misty morning to capture a haunting or mysterious landscape vista. See how photographing at different times of day affects the kinds of images you are able to capture, like the way light intereacts with your subject, or how the weather might impact the tonal qualities and colours of your shots. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for photographs with mood and atmosphere are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.
