Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 293: Movement

Our theme this week is Movement, and we’d love to see how you can capture movement on camera with nature photography! There are so many exciting ways to create new and engaging images that showcase movement in the natural world. Perhaps you will look to freeze a high-action moment in a wildlife sequence, such as a bird in flight, or a predator hunting prey. Or, instead, you may choose to use long exposure techniques, or experiment with panning motions to capture the essence of movement in your images. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for great movement photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s theme was Macro – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Zoltan Dobany: ‘Tipula oleracea. Very spectacular, perfectly still at dawn.’

We love the simple elegance in this macro portrait. The lighting allows us to focus on the subject, with a subtle vignette drawing our eye to the heart of the frame, where an intriguing subject is on display! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
