Weekly Photography Assignment: Night
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 13: Night
Our theme this week is Night. Show us your photos taken at night. That could be long exposures under moonlight, starscapes, star trails, or anything that you think is encompassed by this week’s theme.
For some guidance, have a read of the following tutorials:

Last Week’s Favourites
Here are two of our favourites from last week’s theme, Mammals. You can view all of the entries here.
Tim has clearly braved some ‘bad’ weather to get this shot of a deer in the snow. The slower shutter speed used has allowed him to create streaks with the snow, making for a photo with more emotion and depth than normal. The composition is nice too, with the deer looking across the frame to the other side. I like the added details of the snow in the fur.
Kevin’s brown hare running towards the camera is a photo that brings back some memories for me. When I was younger I spent a long time trying to photograph hares running towards me down a track, and I know how challenging it can be to track such a quick animal whilst staying hidden and discreet. The colours in the ground and the hare’s fur compliment each other nicely, and I love seeing those big, loping feet.
