Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 287: Plants and Fungi

Our theme this week is Plants and Fungi, and we’d love to see what fantastic nature photos of plants and fungi you can take! The opportunities for plant and fungi photography are plentiful. They can be found pretty much everywhere in nature and offer interesting compositions and opportunities for unique images. This week, practice ‘getting your eye in’ and looking for smaller details found in the natural world. What parts of a plant are most engaging? How you can you make fungi look larger than life with perspective, and depth of field? Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for awesome plant and fungi shots are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s theme was Black and White – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Flynn Thaitanunde-Lobb: Beautiful love dance between two swans in the middle of the lake.

The use of contrast in this beautiful black and white scene helps to draw our attention to the central subject matter. The dark background frames the swans elegantly and adds a majestic and ethereal feel to the mood of the image. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
