Week 308: Signs of Winter
Our theme this week is Signs of Winter, and we’d love to see what fantastic nature photos you can take inspired by the winter season. This week, we’re looking for images that represent this season, whether winter is approaching in your neck of the woods, you’re headlong into cold weather, or you’re miles away from it – and longing for cooler days. Perhaps you will look for tiny details in nature, like frost on plants in the morning. Or maybe you will focus on capturing dark and stormy skies, or your favoruite wildlife subjects as they prepare for winter. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting photos of the signs of winter are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Trees – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Carl Franklin: ‘Taken at the weekend in Bedgebury Forest, Kent, England, multi exposures in camera, contrast and local adjustments in LR.’
This exciting image combines creative techniques to create a highly engaging and unusual image of a familiar subject. The sense of mood and atmosphere in the dark, tonal qualities of this image stood out to the judges, and help pull the viewer into a mystical woodland experience. The entries this week were particularly strong, so well done, and thank you to all who entered!
