Weekly Photography Assignment: Spring
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 17: Spring
Our theme this week is Spring. For those of us in the northern hemisphere, the spring season is upon us. Share your favourite spring photos from this year. It might be lambs skipping around, daffodils…

Last Week’s Favourites
Here are two of our favourites from last week’s theme, Flight. You can view all of the entries here.
Hummingbirds are notoriously fast birds. Photographing them is difficult, with opportunities only really arising as they hover in front of a flower to feed on the nectar. Tim has done well to freeze the motion of the bird here, whilst keeping the wings blurred to retain the feeling of speed and flight.
Freezing small passerine birds in flight, like this blue tit, is very hard to do. They move so fast, whilst also being incredibly unpredictable. Andy’s spoke of a project of his to capture woodland birds in flight, and it has certainly paid off. Well done!
