Weekly Photography Assignment: The Colour Brown

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 251: The Colour Brown
Our theme this week is The Colour Brown, and we’d love to see what fantastic nature photos you can take featuring the colour brown! We encourage you to look anywhere you might find this colour in nature, though you shouldn’t have to look for long, as it is certainly a plentiful shade in the natural world! Perhaps you will photograph the bark of a tree, or the texture of an animal’s fur. Maybe you will look for shades of brown in plants or foilage, or patterns in the paths you walk. If you start to look for it, you may find tones of brown in nature that you have never noticed before. Compose your images to highlight these colours, or to draw attention to an unusual shade. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for images of the colour brown in nature are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Small World – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Teri Fehn Leung. This is a captivating composition of a subject easily missed, and one that helps to showcase the wonders of nature’s small worlds! The square crop is highly effective in allowing us to focus directly on the subject. The colours of red and green compliment eachother extremely well, and the scene is well lit and well composed. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
