Weekly Photography Assignment: The Colour Green
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 225: The Colour Green
Our theme this week is The Colour Green, and we’d love to see what creative images you can take of green found in nature. Green can be seen pretty much everywhere in the natural world, though its popularity may vary depending on your climate or season. An obvious choice for finding and focusing on the colour green is in plant life. Look for texture and patterns in the plants around you. However, we also encourage you to look for green in more unsual places this week. Can it been in the feathers of a bird? In the wings of an insect? Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for nature photos highlighting the colour green are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Sunset and Sunrise – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by B B of a ‘Star Magnolia.’ We love the decision to use black and white to highlight the crisp beauty of this subject. The composition is simple and elegant, which reflects the subject matter and monochrome effect. The diagonal leading line draws our eye across the scene, and the shallow depth of field allows us to focus on the beauty in the foreground. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
